Ex “Nizlopi”(most famous for their hit single “The JCB Song”) member Luke Concannon is due to release his second solo album, the much anticipated “Ecstatic Bird in the Burning”. His first album in 8 years.
Luke’s journey with Nizlopi ended with heartache leading him to hitchhike to Palestine where he volunteered as a peace worker in the West Bank. After meeting the American classical singer Stephanie Hollenberg on holiday he embarked on a brand new adventure in America, where he resides to this day.
The first track to come out from his upcoming album is called, “Doing Nothing”, a song about wasting your gifts and living in a comfortable past; not living the life we are supposed to as we are scared of our gifts or being in the moment.
His unique vocals accompanied by his gentle and heartwarming guitar playing is reminiscently consistent with his previous work.
This reintroduction to Concannon starts off with a perfect amuse-bouche(that’s a “palate enticer” for those non-foodies out there), preparing us to devour the rest of the album.
“When you’re Ed Sheeran’s hero and one half of cult underground folk hip hop act Nizlopi with a #1 single, you’ve got a tale to tell.”
Each single will be launched as a streaming party featuring live performances, guest interviews, and conversations.
Things are tough at the moment, but the industry is reinventing and trying to stay relevant, supporting live streams, and connecting online with those you love is a wonderful way to keep your spirits up. So grab your beers, sit back, relax, and let Luke bring you on a journey.
