“Let Go” is a new single from Kilkenny based producer Tanoki. Working with renowned singer Farah Elle, “Let Go” takes the listener on a rich sonic journey filled with and harmonious hypnotic vocals.
Tanoki is a mastermind of arrangement, this was true for his last single Loading (also highly recommended) and is equally true for “Let Go”. The individual instruments and vocals are like silk threads, weaving in and out of one another to create a rich tapestry of sound. The mix and arrangement of the track work so well together, you might find yourself surprised when you hone into particular instruments and hear some unconventional choices (is that a steel drum?!).
In a traditional single release review, this is where we would delve into the genre of the music, the style, maybe liken it to some other artists but “Let Go” defies this type of categorisation. We could say that it’s ‘Electronic Music’ but those flowing guitar lines and ethereal vocals are not served justice by this definition. Similarly, ‘Alternative Music’; the classic catch-all genre for when all others fail, doesn’t encapsulate the feel of the track either. Perhaps the best way to describe this track is simply experimental.
In addition to the track itself, Tanoki has released a supporting music video, which is beautifully matched to the track. Through the use of clever camera effects, he creates a surreal world and fractal patterns that dance to the beat of his music.
“Let Go” is an incredible audio/visual experience, we recommend you check it out below. Follow Tanoki HERE.
